Outdoor sauna designed to last for decades in your garden.

Sauna cabin with an entrance hall, a sauna with a terrace or a panoramic window overlooking the garden. We will design it to suit your plot, construct the foundation, connect the electricity and hand over after the first heating.

What a turnkey outdoor sauna includes

An outdoor sauna is more than just a cabin placed on the lawn. To operate year-round, it requires a level foundation, a ventilated floor, an insulated shell, and correctly installed electrical supply or chimney flue. That is why we build the complete system: from site survey to inspection.

  • Design based on the plot: window orientation, setback from the boundary, access to the stove and cooling.
  • Base: concrete footings, interlocking paving or gravel bed depending on terrain and cabin weight.
  • Construction: framed structure with insulation or solid log cabin; exterior cladding in larch or thermowood.
  • Interior: wall cladding and benches made of aspen, alder or thermowood, lighting, doors with glass.
  • Stoves: electric with control or wood-burning with chimney. Supply, protection, inspection.
  • Entrance hall and relaxation area: shower, coat hooks, wood storage, terrace with roof covering.

Sauna with a relaxation room, or just the hot room?

The smallest outdoor saunas have only a changing room and direct access from the garden. Where space allows, we add an entrance hall with a shower and a relaxation room with a window. In winter, the entrance hall is what determines whether you use the sauna or not: few people can stand changing in the frost on a terrace.

Where to build a garden sauna

At least 2 m from the plot boundary, to a location accessible by machinery with a foundation and where electricity can be supplied. Face the panoramic window towards the garden, not the neighbours. Closer to the house shortens the walk for cooling; further away offers more peace. We will advise on-site during the survey.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does an outdoor sauna require a foundation?

Yes. A lighter barrel sauna requires only a gravel bed and footings, whereas a sauna cabin with an entrance needs concrete footings or a slab. Without a foundation, the cabin will settle and twist, causing the doors to lose their seal.

Can an outdoor sauna be used in winter?

This is especially sensible in winter. The prerequisites are an insulated shell, an insulated floor and sufficient stove output. Cabins without insulation take a long time to heat up in freezing conditions and consume more electricity.

Wood-burning or electric stove?

Wood provides softer heat and a ritual, but requires a chimney, wood, and time to light up. Electric heaters can be started from your phone and are warm within an hour. In the garden, further from electricity, people choose wood; near the house, they choose electric.
