How a turnkey sauna construction proceeds

Six steps from the first enquiry to the first fire-up. No hidden items, no need for you to find an electrician or chimney sweep yourself.

1. Enquiry and discussion

Tell us where you want the sauna installed, how many people it should accommodate, and whether you prefer Finnish, barrel, or infrared. We will get back to you within 24 hours to discuss options and arrange a site survey.

2. Free survey

We will arrive, measure the room or plot, verify electricity, ventilation, access for equipment and, in the case of a garden, setbacks from the boundary. The survey and subsequent design are free and non-binding.

3. Design and quotation

You will receive a floor plan, elevation, wood and stone proposal, lighting design, and an itemised quotation. The price is final and includes electrical work and inspection; for outdoor saunas, the foundation is also included.

4. Manufacturing

Elements are made to measure: benches, panelling, doors; for cabins, entire walls. For outdoor saunas, we prepare the foundation and utility connections in the meantime.

5. Installation, electrical work, chimney

Installation of an indoor sauna usually takes 2 to 5 days, an outdoor cabin 1 to 3 weeks depending on the scope. An electrician with inspection certification connects the stove; for wood-burning stoves, a chimney sweep installs the flue and provides an inspection report.

6. Handover and first firing

We will heat the sauna together and demonstrate how to operate the stove, ventilation and wood care. We will hand over the documentation and inspection reports. After one year, we return to outdoor saunas to tighten any parts that have loosened due to wood movement.

Permit for a garden sauna

According to the Building Act effective from July 2024, a garden sauna is generally a minor construction not requiring planning permission when:

  • The built-up area does not exceed 40 m2 and the height is 5 m.
  • stands at least 2 m from the boundary of the neighbouring plot,
  • not intended for residential use, recreation or business purposes,
  • At least half of the plot area must remain capable of water infiltration.
Preliminary overview, not legal advice. Before construction, we will verify the situation on your plot, including the municipality's land-use plan.
