Radiant heaters warm the body directly at 40 to 60 degrees. They fit into a bathroom or bedroom and require only a standard socket. We build them to measure, not from a box.
Instead of heating the air, infrared panels radiate heat directly into the body. You warm up at a lower temperature, without steam and without long pre-heating. That is why it is chosen by people who do not tolerate Finnish saunas well, as well as those who want to warm up every evening without any ritual.
Catalogue cabins have fixed dimensions, thin walls and heaters positioned according to the manufacturer, not your needs. A custom-made sauna utilises a recess or bathroom corner; benches are fitted to your height and heaters are aimed where heat is required. We select resin-free timber, most commonly linden, poplar or cedar.
A standard 230 V socket with its own fuse, a dry floor and space of at least 1 x 1 m for one person, 1.3 x 1.1 m for two. Ventilation is not required as with a Finnish sauna, but doors with glazing help prevent a feeling of confinement.
A lower temperature places less strain on circulation than a Finnish sauna; however, if you have heart conditions, we recommend consulting your doctor. We are not doctors; we build saunas.
The emitters have an output of 1.5 to 2.5 kW depending on size, and the sauna typically runs for 30 minutes. Consumption is a fraction of that of a Finnish sauna with an 8 kW heater.
Yes, in an insulated cabin or as part of an outdoor sauna. Alone outdoors without insulation it will not heat up in winter, so we always combine it with an insulated shell when installed outside.
