The fastest route to saunas in the garden. The cylinder retains heat, fits on small plots and requires only a gravel bed for installation. We also supply the stove, connection and first fill.
The cylindrical shape has no corners where cold air could accumulate, so the barrel sauna heats up quickly and evenly. It uses less material, resulting in a lower price and weight, and requires only a flat surface for installation. The trade-off is a smaller entrance area and reduced wall height.
A barrel sauna kit can be assembled over a weekend, but the most common errors occur in the foundation, tightening of hoops after drying, and chimney connection. We will level and settle the barrel, retighten the hoops after the first few weeks, and connect the stove including inspection. You do not need to worry about who is responsible for what.
A 2 m long barrel seats two to three people; a 3 m one holds four; a 4 m with an anteroom comfortably accommodates six. Lying down reduces capacity, so factor this in when choosing the length.
A quality barrel with a shingle roof and thermowood will last outdoors without additional roofing. Spruce requires painting after a few years. Wood moves, so we retighten the hoops after the first year.
A barrel sauna typically covers a few square metres, falls under the category of minor structures and does not require planning permission, provided it is situated at least 2 m from the boundary and is not used for residential purposes. We will verify this based on your plot.
